Join the ranks of TKE
Our history starts back in 1932 when 10 students started a local Fraternity called Beta Beta Alpha at Fenn College. We then joined Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity as the Delta Epsilon Chapter in 1953 which all happened before Fenn College became Cleveland State University in 1964. Not only do we carefully select who we admit into our ranks, but we require our members to constantly improve themselves to remain part of this organization. Before you consider joining, be aware that we set high academic and personal standards for our associate members and even higher standards for our active members. In our declaration of principles we state: “Not for wealth, rank or honor but for personal worth and character.” This is a motto that all Tekes at Cleveland State live by. For over one hundred years, TKE has brought the fraternity experience to over 230,000 college men, people like you and me that wanted to make something out of themselves. One of those 230,000 Tekes was Ronald Reagan, who began his career in politics at the TKE house in Eureka College, Illinois. Please watch a short message about Teke from President Ronald Reagan.
The local chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon, known as Delta Epsilon, hasn’t gone by its 50+ year history without being noticed. We are the only chapter to have two members of recieve the International Fraternity’s most distiguished award. Many of our over 900 alumni members hold executive positions in the Cleveland area. Delta Epsilon has accomodated the new millenium, old rituals of hazing are gone, but the traditions based on Love, Charity and Esteem are alive and well.
